The idea of meaningless complexity in modern life…
Life is busy, never stopping, connectivity devices, surging, complex.. all creating noise, yet rarely above a din. Constant without tangible definition. Always there but without standout characteristics. Think about public transport, crowds at the shopping centre, in the office, your gmail account, facebook likes, traffic clogged streets.
Mass tourism as an extension of this superficiality, think air travel with the herd, lining up at major sights, experiences that are numerous yet quickly forgettable. Superficial is disposable. Where are the standout characteristics in an otherwise pre-programed world?
People seek authenticity in their lives, real things with meaning. Items, experiences and emotions that break the mundane hummm. Real comes from meaningful human interactions and connections. In the flesh through sight and touch.
